“What I have learned from Alexander Technique and from Itsuko is that there are always options at your disposal if you actually stop and think.” – Josh Montez

I have been studying Alexander Technique now for 3 years and Itsuko is one of many teachers who I am honored to be studying under. I originally started studying Alexander Technique in relation to my guitar and continue to make strides in that area in terms of using my body in a more advantageous and effortless manner, which in turn allows me to be more “in the zone”.

I also feel in terms of the mental and emotional benefits of Alexander’s work the great quote “from 1 thing know 10,000 things” comes to mind. Once I started getting a glimpse of how I habitually approached my physical habits (sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and especially running, which I loathed before starting lessons with Itsuko), I saw how interconnected the psychological and emotional realms were in terms of habits as well. What I have learned from Alexander Technique and from Itsuko is that there are always options at your disposal if you actually stop and think. If approached with the right mindset, you can literally walk away with a set of fundamental principles to apply to anything in your life and give you a fresh perspective, a beginner’s mind. But do not take my word for it, life is about experience and I highly urge you to experience something new with Itsuko as your guide in the Alexander Technique.
